Thankfulness:
On our three-year anniversary it is hard not to sit back and get lost in thought of all that Hope Revisited has accomplished in our first three years. A smile plants itself on my face when I think of the hundreds of children and their families that have been welcomed into our facility by some of the best volunteers around. We have seen change, so much change in families, it’s astounding. Families come in initially and are unsure of Hope Revisited and what we offer, we then work to build a relationship, which is key, and we watch parents begin to emerge and flourish in the environment that is safe and stable for their family.
Our team is so blessed to have a front row seat in the teaching and cheering section for families as they go through the process of reconnecting, stabilizing and learning to truly thrive. Looking back over the last three years brings such humbleness as we reflect on the community that has poured so much into our organization and into our families and volunteers. Simply put, as the Founder and Director, I am beyond thankful for the community of supporters, donors, volunteers and encouragers that have made our mission possible.
Fred Rogers said it best. “We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say it’s not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem. Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.” Thank you so much to the Hope Revisited Heroes who pour into our families so that they achieve beautiful life change.
